PUUR was responsible for the layout of the municipality’s various services within the building. By thoroughly understanding the building’s program, PUUR was able to create a layout that resulted in a legible and clear building for citizens, featuring an entrance that clearly separates daily and ceremonial services.
The daily services are supported by an immediately visible reception desk with a back office.
A digital point for citizens and a waiting area are linked to this. From the waiting area, there is a view of the counters further away and various adjacent meeting rooms.
The counters are positioned in an adjacent space so that citizens can be assisted comfortably, separated from the waiting area.
The higher partition walls between the various open counters are an acoustically smart solution to create privacy for citizens and municipal employees.
This is achieved by providing these partition walls in a stylish color and making them highly suitable for displaying the counter numbering in the most legible and clear manner.
These walls even feature an integrated camera system per counter, allowing people to have their passport photos taken here very efficiently.
The wedding hall, which also serves as a council chamber, is located on the first floor.
PUUR won the tender via a Design and Build formula together with contractor Van Roey and Hub Architects.
