Our client’s request was to design a conceptual retail concept to showcase a mix of different fashion brands. To achieve this, the existing standard-fitted retail space had to be transformed into a flexible and characterful shopping experience. The assignment called for a future-oriented concept that responds to the changing needs of the retailer.

By removing all finishing layers and plasterboard walls, the building’s numerous renovations became visible once again, and the “honest” property was fully restored. We had already decided to accept the property beforehand, prior to the removal of the previous plasterboard interior.

In dialogue with the rougher walls that had emerged, we designed a sleek, modular frame system as the only addition.

By placing a single steel frame within the original space, our intervention can be described as literally and figuratively minimal.

The fine galvanized steel frame is worked out with a basic principle, constructed from profiles and designed for simple assembly, disassembly, and integration of technical systems. Lighting was carefully built into the system.

Pipes, cable trays, and technical installations remain deliberately visible, contributing to the honest atmosphere of the design.

The entire interior is demountable and reusable. By integrating lighting, curtains, and displays from the previous store, the project gained a circular and future-oriented approach.
