Intracto, Herentals

For a rising star in the world of digital marketing, strategy, communication and technology, PUUR has created a city-like working environment, where a coffee bar, library, cinema and parks represent an inspiring place for employees and a voyage of discovery for visitors.

Strategy

PUUR’s strategy was to take some time out to reflect on a number of basic principles and fundamentals of office space before starting the design process. Questions that came up as a matter of course were ‘What makes a workplace inspiring?’, ‘What kind of place would be someone’s favourite place to work in?’ and ‘how do you create a space that is pleasant for employees and visitors alike?’. Indeed, new technologies have made work flexible, so that work is no longer tied to a specific, well-defined work station.

PUUR chose to take an urban environment as the starting point of the design concept. After all, a city thrives on dynamism and diversity, and this strategy gave PUUR countless new possibilities: why not meet in a coffee bar or a central square or work in a park, for example?

Customer

Intracto, a digital agency in the field of digital marketing, strategy, communication and technology.

Brief

Intracto wanted to transform the new structure into a fascinating interior that reflects its corporate identity: creative, inspiring, human and progressive. The bare bones which PUUR got to work with consisted of a concrete floor, a concrete ceiling and one open space per floor.

End result

By referring to public urban places in the interior, an office environment has been created that offers much variety to Intracto’s employees and visitors alike.

The meeting rooms were given different themes: coffee bar, library, pop-up store, cinema, sweet shop and disco. This variety of types – with different furnishings in terms of lighting, materials and colours – turns a visit to Intracto into a real experience.

The landscape offices were laid out as parks in the city and at the entrance, a square with stands was conceived, creating a meeting place immediately upon entering. The layout creates an informal setting, ideal for a creative company such as Intracto, as an inspiring place for employees and as a voyage of discovery for visitors.

The various furnishings in terms of lighting, materials and colours turn a visit to Intracto into a real experience.
